The river is for swimming, canoeing, fishing and enjoying nature. The canal is for water supply - we like to keep it clean and well maintained.

Short walks are available around the gardens, and more adventure can be found across the river, with walking paths winding up the peninsula. The drift across the river lies at the far end of River Still which leads you onto a couple of scenic paths up onto the peninsula where you can see river valley views, a whole new kind of veld, and sure signs of wildlife. Visit the drumming circle and stoepa on the top of the peninsula.

River Still next door happily allows Mariquensis guests to respectfully traverse their space, and welcomes visitors who wish to book larger gatherings like family parties and conferences. Good fences make good neighbors, and though the River Still dogs provide us all with the security we crave, the gates are kept closed to keep them in.
